Assist attorneys with all aspects of probate and estate administration, including drafting legal documents, preparing court filings, and managing case files
Communicate with clients, probate courts, and other parties involved in the probate proceedings
Conduct legal research and analysis related to probate matters
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of case information and deadlines
Assist with scheduling appointments and managing attorney calendars
Draft Inventory and Appraisals, Accountings and other necessary documents for review by Probate Examiner and submission to Probate Courts
Communicate with clients on a regular basis throughout the representation with updates
Assist attorneys in preparing cases for hearings.
Maintain case management database.
Daily accurate entry into the Case Management System with no more than 15% of total time allocated to administrative work.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm is preferred, focus on probate and estate administration is a plus.
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
Ability to reliably commute to the Murrieta, CA office required
A fundamental understanding of estate planning/administration concepts OR related experience is a bonus.
Possess strong multi-tasking and time management skills
Be willing to perform administrative tasks as needed
Superb communication, organizational an interpersonal skills
Be a self-starter who is also detail oriented
Display a positive attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases Be able to learn new software with ease
Have excellent spelling, typing and grammar skills
Ability to type between 40-50 words per minute
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrate a high degree of discretion, confidentiality and integrity in the handling of personal client information, including following the Rules of Professional Conduct
