
Payroll & General Office Administrator / Front Desk (Entry–Mid Level)
Location: Murrieta, CA
Pay: $25–$27 per hour (DOE)
Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented Payroll & General Office Administrator to serve as the front desk representative for our Murrieta office. This role combines payroll and administrative responsibilities with reception and customer service duties, making it ideal for someone who is organized, friendly, and comfortable being the first point of contact for employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with processing weekly/biweekly payroll accurately and on time
Maintain employee records, timekeeping, and personnel files
Assist with onboarding, new hire paperwork, and benefits administration
Greet visitors, answer phones, and manage front desk operations
Handle general office duties including filing, data entry, mail, and correspondence
Prepare payroll and HR reports and assist with audits and compliance
Respond to employee payroll and administrative questions professionally
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information
Qualifications:
1–3+ years of payroll and/or general office administrative experience
Working knowledge of California payroll laws and procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Experience with payroll and HR systems; isolved software experience is a huge plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Professional appearance and demeanor for front desk coverage
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a busy office environment
Compensation & Benefits:
$25–$27 per hour, depending on experience
