Objective:
The Logistics Coordinator I supports day-to-day shipping and logistics execution to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant movement of customer orders. This role prepares shipment documentation, processes outbound shipments, coordinates carrier pickups, maintains shipping records, and communicates routine shipment and open-order status to internal stakeholders. The Logistics Coordinator I serves as a foundational logistics role focused on transaction accuracy, documentation control, and reliable shipment execution.
Essential Functions:
1. Maintain shipment records, packing slips, bills of lading, and related shipping files. 2. Enter shipment data accurately, including addresses, quantities, weights, and other order-specific information needed for shipping paperwork. 3. Prepare and process outbound shipments to ensure customer orders are filled accurately and released on time. 4. Assist in identifying shipping-related inventory discrepancies and ensure they are communicated for correction. 5. Select or confirm appropriate delivery services based on order requirements, customer instructions, and shipping methods. 6. Submit Advance Shipment Notices (ASN) and ensure required shipping paperwork is routed accurately to Accounting and other internal stakeholders. 7. Prepare shipping documentation for domestic and international customer orders in accordance with internal and customer requirements. 8. Coordinate and monitor freight and parcel carrier pickups to support on-time customer delivery. 9. Ensure the content and accuracy of all shipping documents prior to release. 10. Communicate open-order and routine shipment status to Customer Service and other internal stakeholders to support alignment with inventory, production scheduling, and shipping lead times. 11. Support documentation and shipping preparation requirements for promotional or other special-order needs as assigned. 12. Support daily shipping workflow and communicate routine issues, delays, or discrepancies to the Logistics Supervisor. 13. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
● High school diploma or GED ● Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and write in English ● Completed degree(s) above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis ● At least 2 years of directly related experience ● Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures ● Certified forklift truck operator, or ability to become certified if required
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM, overtime on occasion
Pay Range:
$25.00 to $28.00 per hour, Depending on Experience
